The NEW Vet Graduate Essentials training day is designed to equip you with the skills and strategies you need to thrive in practice. This interactive, in-person workshop, led by Dr Freya Rooke, offers practical insights into managing stress, improving the understanding of your communication style through DISC profiling, and developing sustainable work habits. Join us for a day of learning that will set you up for success as you embark on your veterinary career.

What will I learn?
During this course, you will:
- Understand the difference between pressure and stress, learning how to maintain performance even in uncertain situations.
- Develop practical techniques to stay confident in the face of difficult situations and conversations.
- Gain insights into your DISC behavioural profile to improve communication, reduce misunderstandings, and lower stress when working with others.
- Learn how to handle the emotional impact of challenging situations and avoid compassion fatigue.
- Discover how to manage your time more effectively and focus on the things that truly matter in your work.
- Identify the key factors that help you to thrive in practice, including ‘responsible selfishness’ to protect your wellbeing.
What can I expect?
- A full-day in-person workshop with Dr Freya Rooke, starting at 10am (arrival from 9:45am) and finishing at 4pm at our office in Cheshire.
- A small group of up to 12 delegates
- A DISC behavioural assessment carried out in advance
- A copy of your behavioural report
- 6 hours CPD
