Be present this festive season

At Christmas we tend to think mostly of others – about our patients, teams, families, friends, even strangers. We are constantly wondering what’s going on for them. What do they need? How can we help? How do they feel? Are they enjoying themselves? What does everyone else want to do?

While our attention is focused outwards, invariably the pressure is channelled inwards. Trying to balance doing our best for our families, friends, colleagues and the environment all within the constraints of our time and our finances can feel simply overwhelming; our own wants and needs don’t get a look-in.
