The gift of less Christmas stress

As the daunting prospect of planning family festivities, braving the shops and dealing with the ‘dog ate my advent calendar/mince pies/Christmas cake’ emergencies looms, here are our top tips for managing the festive period.

1. Sleep

While hibernation may be impractical (if tempting), sleep is particularly important at this time of year.

2. Do it together

Make the festive period a team sport rather than a solo endurance challenge. Flex your delegation muscle and enlist support from everyone involved in your celebrations. If people are coming to you, what can they bring? What can partners and children do? Share tasks and responsibilities...
